Build a Mind
That Doesn’t Break
A mental health keynote on building a stronger relationship with your mind and facing discomfort head-on.
SOUTH SUDAN
Keynote Description
The insecurities and fears you avoid don’t disappear. They quietly control your life until you decide to face them.
More than ever, people are struggling with their mental health, and instead of working on it, they’re avoiding it. That avoidance is shaping how they feel, how they work, and how they show up for those around them.
SOMALIA
As a teenager, Cameron struggled with crippling anxiety and OCD. For years, he avoided working on his mental health, convinced he wasn’t capable of overcoming it. Eventually, he made the decision to face it head on. He embarked on a journey to every country to confront his greatest fears: germs, uncertainty, and most importantly, his own mind.
Across 195 countries, Cameron gradually learned to manage his mental health in ways he never had before. He shares some of the most defining moments from that journey, from living with a tribe in South Sudan that showers in cow urine to being stuck in Somalia during a terrorist attack. Through these stories and more, Cameron offers practical steps on how to face what you’ve been avoiding and how to build a stronger relationship with your mind.
